WE TRASHED THE DRESS!!!

YUP… that’s right. Remember that GORGEOUS wedding gown that Crystal wore? WE TRASHED IT! I have had more fun photographing this couple than I could have ever imagined… beginning several months ago with their engagement session… then their wedding and now THIS. I can not say enough good things about this couple and their families. They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and to have the opportunity to have my first trash the dress session with Crystal thrilled me! From the first time that I met with her in person, I knew I liked her style… and that we were going to get a long very well! We first talked about the trash the dress session during Crystal’s bridals! We were at her aunt’s home by the pond and Crystal mentioned getting IN the pond with her rubber boots and just hiking her dress up! But there were a LOT of very large frogs around the pond, and I was worried that either…

A. The toad/frogs would jump on her, scare her and make her fall backwards into the water.

B. She would get stuck in the mud and not be able to get out!

Yes people… believe it or not… I talked someone OUT of doing something crazy in a session! :)

Anyway… then I had mentioned to her that it might be fun to actually get in the pond for real… after the wedding. Ideas were thrown around, one thing led to another and next thing I know we were preparing for a trash the dress session with Crystal and Bronson! We started off getting some shots of Crystal “working” on Bronson’s truck! (Which is thought was hilarious, by the way.) Then after that we headed to get “cleaned up” at the carwash. I have to say that this was my favorite. Crystal and Bronson had too much fun throwing soap at each other and just having a ball. Then for the GRAND finale… we headed out to a friends home to finally and completely… trash the dress. The first thing we did at the pond, is the very first storyboard of images on this blog… they jumped off the end of the pier. Bronson might not want to admit to it, but Crystal had to talk him into this… because the water was FREEZING! But Bronson was a trooper and I am so glad he was, because I love the images we got out of it. The best part of the session was seeing Crystals face come up out of the water when she realized that her dress was being sucked under!! Carolyn (crystals mom) and I had a blast watching this… because we weren’t the ones freezing our butts off.

In the end the dress wasn’t actually completely trashed… and is most likely going to be spot free after it’s cleaned… (even though Crystal had planned on us completely trashing it…) Bronson’s white suit on the other hand is now PINK from the suds at the carwash! J There are different levels of trash the dress. This can range from just taking some where your not worried to sit on the ground, or get a little dirt on it… where the dress will most likely look untouched afterwards… or you can go all out, like Crystal, have a blast on a day that you will NEVER forget! :)

I intend to continue doing trash the dress sessions so contact me if your interested… spring would be an awesome time for a couple of these! ;)

Nothing says “I love you,” like a hand full of car wash suds to the face!

The suds that were bubbling out of the brush had JUST fallen onto her face!!

Yup… he;s licking the suds… but what can you expect coming from a guy who was swallowing minnows on his wedding day! haha.

Bronson should know by now that it’s dangerous to turn his back to me… because as soon as he turned to look at Crytal, I que’ed her to spray him!! :)

This is the modern day, Bonnie and Clyde! :)
