SFA vs. A&M

On September 4th 2010, Stephen F. Austin University played Texas A&M University in football. (A&M won.) But Whitney (an SFA graduate) and Ryan (A Texas A&M graduate) missed the game because they were getting married! :) No, they didn’t plan their wedding date because of that (..I asked) it was actually the anniversary of when they began dating. But for those events to fall on the very same day just makes it all meant to be. :)

They had a very beautiful, very emotional wedding, surrounded by tons of family and friends. I’ve known Whitney since I first moved to Paris in 2002.. she was actually my first friend here. I’ve seen her and her family go through so much during the short 8 years that I’ve known her.. so to not only be there, but be photographing her wedding meant so much to me. It didn’t actually hit me until I was following them to Heritage Hall in my truck that I realized.. she’s not my friend “Turner,” anymore. It’s not like I hadn’t known they were getting married.. but for some reason.. it just hit me. But Whitney promised that she would ALWAYS be “Turner.” :) So my friend from down the road, who drove me to school before I got my license in her white Chevy truck with the Sponge Bob Squarepants air-freshener hanging from the rear view mirror, who had a completely decked out red, white and blue Prairiland Patriot bedroom, showed pigs in FFA and who’s dog (for some reason) hated me SO much that I couldn’t even walk into their house alone, is now a married woman. When did we get grow up? ;)

Poor Ryan, I feel like he’s been completely left out of this.. but I couldn’t have picked a better guy for her. ;) Congrats Ryan and Turner. Love you guys.

(PS.. I had to put these in a collage because I ended up pulling SO many for the blog post.) :)
