Full portrait sessions include a 1 hour session as well as a downloadable online gallery of the full resolution, edited images with a print release and recommendations on where to print for the best quality. (Newborn sessions typically last longer.) Regardless if you're booking a session for your family, your young children, your high school senior or for whatever other reason, I strive for sessions to be a fun, laid back experience. Sessions are a mixture of posed and natural images. I want your images to show the personalities of those in them so that you can look back on them in the future and remember these moments just as they were. I love happy, fun images. I want children to be children. I want you to have the silly candid images just as much as the smiling, posed ones, therefore varying by the type of session, full sessions do include quite a few final images.

Full session dates typically book up anywhere from 2-9 months in advance. Spring and Fall months always fill quite a bit faster. Sessions are scheduled Monday-Friday only. A retainer and a signed portrait agreement are due upon booking to reserve the date. Once you are booked you'll be able to log in to the Client Lounge where you can get details on how to make your session go as smooth as possible (especially with little ones) as well as recommendations on hair and makeup, where to print once you receive your images and all the other details that help you prepare for your session. The remainder of your session is due at the session. Once your images are finished they will be uploaded to a downloadable online gallery so you will be able to see them immediately.

I offer sessions not only on location (I do travel) but I also have a large natural light studio and outdoor studio area located right outside of the Paris, Texas area. I have an extensive prop collection that I am constantly adding to as well as "adding on" to my outdoor studio area so that I can offer my clients an exclusive variety of options for their sessions. I also love to incorporate the uniqeness of you, your family, your children, etc. into your session.

Tara Swain Photography is an all-inclusive photographer; simply meaning all wedding packages and portrait session rates include the final edited images. The images are also full resolution, allowing you to print as large as you wish. Custom photography is an investment and I take pride in creating the highest quality experience and images for my clients. I also believe that you shouldn’t have to agonize over choosing just a few of your images to print. I want you to be able to have ALL of your images. I do provide my clients with information for where they may print their images for the best quality. Portrait Sessions

I am a wedding, portrait and commercial photographer based in Northeast Texas. Although I do occasionally work with studio lighting I prefer to stick with what I love– natural light photography. I am based in Paris, Texas but available for travel anywhere. If you’re planning on running away to get married, I do offer special packages for destination brides. Although I do have a studio, during the Spring and Fall, weather permitting, I do shoot mostly outdoor sessions. I specialize in baby plans, child and wedding photography and unique, one-of-a-kind themed mini sessions.

A portrait session with me is a laid-back, fun experience! I thrive on giving my clients a unique, original, custom experience that they will enjoy just as much as the images we create from it. I’m not your old-school photographer. I want to see how people love one another. I’ll ask you to play and I’ll ask you to be silly and I do my best to make you laugh at one another. I’m always looking for something new and something completely different. I want families who don’t just want photos for their walls– but want this particular moment in time captured. After having my 2 little ones, I know all too well how quickly time passes. I have probably taken tens of thousands of photographs of both of my children– more than I have wall space for. But I know that I will never get this moment back. They will never be this age again. Whether this is your high school senior– who is about to branch off on their new chapter in life.. or maybe this is an engagement session for you and your fiancé, where these pictures will not only serve as a memory of this exciting time in your life where everything is about to change- (including your name!) these photos will serve as something for your great grandchildren to look back on as a glimpse into their family.

Canvas wraps are actually my best selling product and I have plenty of samples in the studio as well as samples of all my other offered products as well.

TSP was established in January of 2008. Since then I have met and photographed thousands of families and hundreds of weddings. My business quickly grew from a part time business to an extremely busy, full time business within months. I began my business at a young age, hungry to learn and grow in my craft. I wanted to offer something unique and I wanted to build a brand. That is a value that still holds true today. I am constantly brain storming for new ideas and concepts to offer. In 2012 we built what is now, my custom, natural light photography studio. I am proud to be able to provide not only my one-of-a-kind studio space, but an outdoor “studio” as well. I believe in the importance of investing back into your business, and with this I am constantly searching for, acquiring or building unique items and props for my clients.

I do limit the number of weddings and portrait sessions that I accept each year. I love my business and I strive to offer the best for my clients. But I also love my family and I have to remember there is only 1 of me. So much time and work goes into each session and wedding, behind the scenes on my end and there are only so many hours in the day. Because of this, portrait sessions are scheduled on weekdays ONLY. A limited number of weekends are available for weddings and the rest are reserved for my family. I feel that this is important not only to keep my sanity– but to continue to allow my clients the best experience I can offer.

To book with TSP- a non-refundable retainer and signed wedding or portrait agreement are due at the time of booking to reserve a date. My calendar normally fills up anywhere from 4-8 months in advance for portrait sessions. Spring and Fall months always book much quicker. If you’re interested in booking a baby’s 1st year plan or a newborn session, it’s important that you contact me during your first trimester. Unfortunately, due to scheduling so far in advance, I don’t always have available dates for sessions if your unable to contact me until later in your pregnancy. This is not always the case!! BUT I do recommend contacting me very early on to insure availability.
