Pepper Lu Giveaway
When I was working on what the prop closet in the new studio would need to be, one of the top things on the list was a better storage system for my faux floor mats from PepperLu. In the old studio, I was really limited on room so I could store them 1 of 2 ways.
1: Lay them flat on the floor and just pile them on top of one another. The issue with this is it not only took up floor space, BUT I have several of these mats.. and piled on one another, they become very heavy so it was almost impossible to pull mats from the bottom without making a complete mess.
2. Roll them up and lay them. This is the best way to store them I believe.. but it became messy. Not to mention things would get piled on top of them, and end up creating creases in the mats! The creases would always relax again after awhile, but it bugged me. But with my limited storage space and all of my props, it was difficult to keep things from stacking up on top of them.
We didn’t actually come up with the storage system until our contractor was building the closet. The closet was custom built using measurements of some of my larger props, or props that I had quite a few of. I knew that for the storage system, I wanted something I could roll the mats up into to keep things from piling up on them. I also knew that I wanted them up off the floor and out of the way. And to make the most of my space, I wanted a compact storage system. While staring at the mats one day, and trying to think of some way, any way, to build something that would keep them safe, easily accessible and out of the way, I threw the idea out about stacking tubes. PVC pipes actually. When then measured the mats and rolls a few up to measure the diameter. Then Zack (our contractor) built this little beauty. He used PVC pipes stacked and actually built into one of my shelves. It’s a VERY simple solution to storing these amazing mats and saves SO much space!
PepperLu actually just released 2 NEW mats that are amazing (and that I’m getting a pre order on.) They are gorgeous and definitely different from anything they have done before. Check out White Wash and Blue Beachwood.
So PepperLu wanted to team up and show they fans 1 new way to store their amazing mats.. AND they are offering a $40 credit to 1 lucky duck! The winner will be posted here on this blog on October 1st.
