It’s been super busy since getting back to work but I’ve taken Valentine pictures of Briley every year since she was born and was looking forward to taking pictures of BOTH of my babies this year. I had Paris Baby make Beau’s onesie and had a shirt made for Briley but her bottoms didn’t come in in time so I had to throw together something from her closet.. yes we had that outfit on hand. ;)

I literally took these IMMEDIATELY before having to break the entire Valentines set down, so that I could get the studio back to normal for normal sessions again; so it was absolutely last minute. I knew I had a very short window to take these. I timed it perfectly.. right after Beau ate, during one of his “most awake” times now.. and wouldn’t you guess… my child passed out.

Yup. Slept through the session. Nothing I could do would wake him up.

He was in a baby/milk-drunk coma.

I gave up.. and just took them with him sleeping. My 11 week old.. passed out. I guess I shouldn’t complain. Our friends all “jokingly” wished that THIS child wouldn’t be as good of a sleeper as Bear was… but he’s even better. He is literally still asleep the majority of the day. He passes out mid bottle constantly during the day. I have shot almost every session since going back to work WITH him in the studio with me. He sleeps. Last week I had 2, 5 year olds in the studio.. for almost 2 hours… and they had party horns. You know the kind that make a LOT Of noise. He slept. Just passed out.. in his swing.

But I still can’t believe he slept through this. He is normally awake during that time of the day.. he had JUST woken up from sleeping a long span of time. But he refused to open his eyes. So Bear and I just basically used him as a prop. ;)

He DID wake up toward the end for a few short minutes.. before eating again.. and passing back out for about 6 hours straight. My guess is a growth spurt because he is normally attached to me during the day. Asleep or not, this boy knows when I’m not holding him.. and he doesn’t allow it. So regardless, we managed to get a few with his eyes open. I love them anyway. It’ll just help
