Emily + Antonio – Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Destination Wedding

First off, let me start by saying this is THE longest blog post I’ve ever made. There was absolutely no way possible to narrow it down anymore than I already did. I considered splitting it up into 2 separate posts, but I hated to split up the pictures- and with the layout of the new blog and readers being able to open posts individually, I thought I’d give it a try as 1 post.

Last year when Emily contacted me about shooting she and Antonio’s destination wedding, to say I was ecstatic, would be an understatement. The more we talked the more I knew this was a good fit. Their style, their easy going personalities and how in love and excited they were for their wedding day only made me more excited! I think about 98% of my clients come from word of mouth- but Emily actually found me through GOOGLE. Emily knew she wanted a Trash the Dress session so she just started web surfing for Trash the Dress photographers in Texas.. and thats when she found Crystal and Bronson’s TTD from a few years back, and asked me if I would travel with them to Mexico for their destination wedding!

The week was amazing. The weather was beautiful and the resort was breathtaking. The day we got to the resort we had a welcome (beach) bag waiting for us including a personalized beach towel, salsa with a personalized label and several other things. There were so many special touches to the trip that represented Emily and Antonio. The night before the wedding we had the “Welcome Dinner,” at the AMAZING, Casa Isabel. Emily and Antonio told us about the incredible view from the restaurant- but we had no idea what we were in for. We basically drove straight up a mountain.. in a tiny little cab that was just as wide as the tiny little road we drove on. Once we reached the top, the view just took your breath away- and it’s was a view that most vacationers probably never see.

The decor of the wedding was straight out of a fairytale, thanks to the amazing ladies at The Dazzling Details. It was a very intimate beach ceremony with 24 of their closest friends and family. Every detail of the day seem to be custom designed for them- like the dinner menus that read “because guy’s gotta eat” or “because a girl’s gotta eat,” which is what Antonio said when he first convinced her to have dinner with him! :) Or her bridal bouquet that consisted of Bougainvillea flowers, like the bougainvillea plant that her grandmother gave her when she left for college. The reception was possibly the most fun I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding reception. Antonio told me he was worried that there wouldn’t be a lot of dancing with such a small group, but that night the dance floor was never empty. The only point in the night where the dancing temporarily stopped was during the cake cutting where a surprise fireworks display was set off from the beach behind Emily and Antonio.

It’s difficult to try and describe this amazing event through words without leaving something out- so I’m just going to let the pictures do the rest. Emily and Antonio- I cannot thank you enough for the amazing experience and completely taking B and I in and making us feel so welcome. You guys are amazing.
