Celeste + Cody’s College Station Engagement Session (part 1)

As I’ve always said.. I love being taken to locations that mean something to the people I’m photographing. When we bring in locations that represent the person in them, they make the images that much better. Last week Celeste and I took a little road trip to see her fiance Cody on the Texas A & M campus at College Station, Texas! By the time we got home that night we were delirious. I can’t really remember exactly what time we got home, but I think it was around 11:00 pm! For those of you who have made that trip know it’s a LONG day when you drive there AND back in 1 day (not including a photo shoot in between trips.) Not to mention the slight delay when we got lost in Sulphur Springs. ;)

I, and apparently Cody started watching the weather at least a week in advance. We had scheduled this session months and months ago so that my mom would be able to keep Briley for me since I would be gone all day. And OF COURSE that was pretty much the only day it called for rain that week. It started out at 60% chance… and slowly, VERY slowly, decreased as the week went on, until it stopped at 40%. Apparently Celeste didn’t know this… and when Cody called to say.. “Don’t panic, because it’s ONLY 40% chance, but it IS calling for rain in the forecast,” she got nervous! I went to high school with Cody and I can tell you that he is a sweetheart. I didn’t know Celeste other than hearing crazy stories about her older brother who B went to school and played baseball with and other than once when we had lunch to talk about the wedding details! But needless to say, after a very long day riding in the car together, I think I know her pretty well now! ;) However, since Cody was still in school, I had never seen her and Cody together… it wasn’t until I saw them together that I realized just how giggly and funny she is. As soon as they were together, I could tell they were perfect for each other. It’s so funny to see how they interact!!! The only way I know how to describe it is that it reminds me of twins- (how twins have their own language.) I am SURE that Celeste and Cody have their own little language. They compliment each other perfectly, without a doubt. They are hilarious together… listening to all their teasing at one another all day long.. I had SOOO much fun. It rained on us off an on… once, toward the end of the session, it actually POURED on us… but we managed and the session went GREAT! We actually have a part 2 of their session coming up in a couple of months.. but that one is here in Paris. :) Oh and one more thing.. I’m happy to announce that I think I may have finally found someone that is as accident prone and clumsy as I am. ;) (Sorry Celeste!)

We started out where else but the Century Tree!!

Yes.. Celeste IS hanging from the Century tree. Believe it or not, this was HER suggestions, not mine!! ;) She chickened out a few times and even though she was convinced were were probably going to be kicked off campus I told her if she wanted to hang from the branch.. better to try than to regret not doing it. ;)

Love this one. Check out the ring! :)

I have the most fun clients EVER!!!!!

:)

Then we headed to the Dixie Chicken for awhile… this is where Cody passes his time while he’s at school missing Celeste. ;)

Had to post this because this was Celeste’s awesome pose. ;)

Bottle Cap Alley!

Porch of the Dixie Chicken. These are some of my favorites!!! :)

I’m NOT a big fan of “pictures with flowers,” but I could have hung out at this place all day long. It was GORGEOUS!!!! I have NEVER seen roses like this. And the barn wood arches were awesome. So if any Aggie brides want to take me up on some bridals here, just let me know! ;)

SERIOUSLY.. can’t get over the hot pink roses!!!! I wish this was in my backyard. Of course if it was in MY backyard, it would be dead. :( I’m more of a shrub person… something thats not easily killed. :)

Then to downtown Bryan for a few more. This is right after it poured on us.

Here are a few out takes! I know I haven’t done this in a long time.. I tend to forget. :( I actually didn’t get these with the out takes in mind.. I just thought it was funny. ;)

This is Celeste’s attempt to climb the Century tree.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!

Word to the wise.. if you make a funny face and let me take your picture.. IT. WILL. BE. BLOGGED. :)

Hehehe. :)
